KORN FERRY, ONE OF THE WORLDS TOP

EXECUTIVE RECRUITING FIRMS

John understood what I needed and ran with it.  The specifications creatively worked around some of the limitations of the platform. There was a lull between the completed specifications and their development. On his own initiative, he found SQL Server work he could do on the data warehouse so he could be available when development started.  If the opportunity were to arise again in the future, I would hire him in a heartbeat.

Korn Ferry

Korn Ferry is one of the world's top executive recruiting firms.  In addition, it works with clients to help them develop their own future leaders internally.  Korn Ferry partners with 96% of the Fortune 100.

Company Master Application

Korn Ferry has obtained a number of software applications for such purposes as personnel assessment and delivery of proprietary data, through the acquisition of other companies.

The Company Master Application is a way to connect a company in these software applications to that company's record in the Korn Ferry accounting system, its system of record.

These connections were done automatically when possible or manually by a user when human interaction was required.  For example, the assessment application might have an entry for a company "Bellinger FZE" and the system of record has an  entry for a company "Bellinger UAE".  A user can go onto the Internet and find that FZE is the economic free zone of the United Arab Emirates.  Hence, these are the same company.

This project involved obtaining the permission from several database owners to obtain their data for the project.  It also involved researching the different applications and also SAP to find what additional informatoin we might have on the company that might help with the comparison.

QA of New Data Warehouse

Korn Ferry is in the process of creating a new, more powerful data warehouse.

After the information has moved from the original data warehouse into the new data warehouse with its new data structure,  it had to be checked to ensure the information had not changed.

This involved creating queries to read the old data, to work out the key values used to identify each piece of data in the new data warehouse, find and read the new data and to compare them.

Once any issues were found, I entered them into Jira and validated them once corrected.
